American falls nglish Teacher Arrested
A teacher from American Falls has been charged with three counts of sexual battery on a minor child. Power County Sheriff Jim Jeffries says William Price Hamilton, 31 of Pocatello, was an English teacher for the last three years at American Falls High School.
In a place where many come to learn and feel safe, students and parents are shocked to hear that a teacher at American Falls High School was arrested for allegations of sexual battery on a minor.
“He’s a funny guy. He’s really nice to students. He teaches you a lot of things. He’s a good person,” said Michael Palacios, sophomore at American Falls High School.
Parents and students who didn’t want to go on camera and learned about the arrest for the first time Wednesday night say that it’s surprising to hear that something like this could possibly happen in a town like American Falls. They feel safe in this town and are in disbelief by the news of the arrest and the charges.
Hamilton is being held in the Power County Jail on no bond. He’ll be arraigned first thing Thursday morning.
The arrest is a result of an investigation conducted by the Power County Sheriff’s Office, American Falls Police Department and the Pocatello Police Department. Other charges may be pending in Bannock County.
The victim was a student at American Falls High School when the alleged offenses began to occur approximately two years ago.
